Much to my dismay, my family moved to Houston Texas at the end of our junior year, where I graduated from Westchester Senior High School. I returned to California and earned a BS in Zoology from UC Davis in 1977, then went to work for a year at the Oakland Museum of California. After taking some years off with small children, I returned to the museum, where I am now the Registrar of the Natural Sciences Department.
I have been married for 29 years to Lauri Rissanen (ECHS Class of ’71), and have three daughters (all Gaucho grads!) and two granddaughters. Lauri and I live on the Richmond/El Cerrito border with Meghan, our middle daughter and her daughter Pyper.
To celebrate my 50th birthday last year we took a trip to Barcelona, where the “Now” picture above was taken. We celebrated with friends and family who came from England to stay with us in Spain – and I believe a grand time was had by all!
