After high school I completed Business studies at UC Berkeley. I married Linda Young (Class of '71--Virginia Young's older sister) in March '77, graduated in June '77, and we moved to Brookings Oregon in July '77. It was an eventful 6 months. Linda and I have raised 2 sons, David and Daniel who are both married and live in Santa Barbara and Bend Oregon respectively. We currently operate Zia DreamHomes in Brookings--yes, we've been here all 30 years! Currently we have about a dozen employees. Its a small town, and though we specialize in highend custom homes, we wear several hats. We have our own design department (Zia Design), a light commercial piece (Zia Commercial), and a remodeling arm (Zia Transformations). I love my work, and we have a great team to work with. Over the years I've become a professional board member locally, having served on an assortment of more than a dozen boards. Currently I serve our local Credit Union (CFCU w/8 branches in Ore. & Cal.), Professional Lending Services, Crimestoppers, and Curry Good Sam. Small towns are great. Linda and I have deep roots in Brookings, and will likely die here. We love to travel, and its unlikely we'll be able to retire since we spend every penny we make traveling the world. Our favorite places are Australia and New Zealand, Switzerland, and the British Isles. We've met the greatest people on our journey together...not just traveling!
