On February 27th 2006, Bill suffered a fatal heart attack. There was a celebration of life in Bill's honor on Saturday May 6th, 2006 at 1PM at the Salute Ristorante, 1900 Esplanade Way, Marina Bay, Richmond, CA. (www.salutemarinabay.com) The celebration was hosted by Bill's sister Barbara Cooper. She can be reached at bbcoopers@yahoo.com. To honor Bill's love of Hawaii, Aloha wear was optional. It was a colorful event as many came Hawaiian style. Bill was blessed with many friends and it was a sad but wonderful way to say goodbye to a dear friend.
In memory of
Bill Jensen
September 10, 1955 – February 27, 2006
Bill was a lifelong resident of El Cerrito. His life was full with good friends, family, career, trips to Hawaii and nights at the theatre. A proud CAL grad with a degree in Psychology in 1977, Bill worked in health care insurance administration- most recently with a fine group of people at United Health Care in San Francisco. Since 1971, Bill volunteered at the Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT) in all aspects- though mainly behind the scenes- of the theatre's operation for over 35 years. He was Prop Room manager, skilled in turning bits of this and that into perfectly realistic items and making other magic for theatrical productions. He also served for many years as treasurer on the Board of Directors and was instrumental in keeping CCCT on sound financial footing. In 2005 Bill was named one of CCCT’s Lifetime Volunteers -- the theatre’s highest volunteer award given to those people who best epitomize the “community” spirit of community theatre. When not in Hawaii, Bill was thinking about going to Hawaii, where he enjoyed vacations with friends and his sister Barbara and her family. Bill died suddenly and unexpectedly from an undiagnosed heart condition.
Goodbye old friend, you will be missed.
