Therese (Jones) Garrett
I'd say the most significant accomplishment in my life since graduating from ECHS 30+ years ago would have two be my two children, Catherine and Jeffrey (ages 27 and 23.) Although being a parent is probably the most difficult thing I've had to do, it has also given me the most joy and made my life colorful and full. I married Chris Garrett (ECHS class of 1972,) and although we separated in 1995, we continue to be very close friends and work really well together as co-parents (and grandparents to our grandson Austin Jeffrey.)
It wasn't until after high school that I learned to value knowledge and education. Loving the process of learning, it took me years to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I guess I became a professional student, changing my major over and over again. I finally decided on Counseling Psychology and got my MA at JFK University when it was still in Orinda. Currently I practice Marriage and Family Therapy in Concord, CA.
